IntroductionThroughout history people have tracked and quantified themselves. Consider someone monitoring their weight on a bathroom scale, indicating that dietary changes are necessary. Of late though, technological developments have enabled an unprecedented degree of self-tracking. Wearable devices and mobile health apps now provide continuous tracking of exercise, sleep, caloric intake and more (Fox, 2017).
