Mt Pleasant Area School Board passed the district’s final proposed budget with a deficit of more than $350,000, that, at this point, includes a three-mill increase. A dozen or more Dunbar Borough residents made their way to the borough council meeting this week to talk about concerns over the state of properties throughout the borough. Mt. Pleasant Borough officials are hoping to have some concrete plans in place by mid-June for the renovation project planned for Frick Park. Councilman Michael Barrick said had received an approximate $300,000 LSA grant for the renovations that will include updated lighting, additional parking above the park along Spence Way and walkways from the additional parking down to the park.

Plans for a dog park in Scottdale have come to a halt until a committee made up of parks commission members, possible investors and community members can be formed to come up with the best plan.
