I outline in detail. I feel my books 'write themselves' once I've nailed plot & character. Knowing what happens in the scene allows me to have fun writing, instead of having to assess what’s happening and why. I’ve already made those decisions, so the words just flow #ukteenchat

Whispering Hollow is my 4th book. I’ve always outlined the plot first, but I think I’ve got better at planning the story, so I waste less time doing re-writes. I wish I could say I’ve speeded up, but I’m still a very slow writer! #ukteenchat

I looked into the darker side of faerie folklore, researching traditional stories and reading adult and children’s novels based on the lore. I wanted to include some familiar tropes, but also add my own twist and create something that I hope feels fresh and original. #ukteenchat
