But this summer I made the conscious decision to read more historical fiction since I had so many of these novels on my bookshelves waiting to be read. In the last several weeks I’ve read James by Percival Everett, Restless Dolly Maunder by Kate Grenville, Heirlooms by Rachel Hall, Our Narrow Hiding Spaces by Kristopher Jansma, and The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo, all of which I recommend.
