    A 21-year-old man was killed early Monday morning on New Providence, police said. According to reports, a group of people were gathered outside a business establishment on Cordeaux Avenue when a dark-colored Japanese vehicle approached them. A man exited the vehicle and shot at the group multiple times before getting back into the vehicle and driving away. Two men, both 21, were shot and taken to the hospital in private vehicles.

    Workers at the Post Office on New Providence yesterday staged a protest over what they claim is disrespectful treatment by Acting Postmaster General Shervonne Johnson. Dozens of workers gathered outside the Post Office’s location at the Town Centre Mall holding placards and chanting, “Shervonne got to go”. The placards read: “We demand a change in leadership. Help; Hostile environment. No peace; United we stand. Enough is enough.

    The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has found that The Bahamas’ housing stock has not kept up with the country’s continued population growth, and has called on the government to do more to address the issue. “Though the population in The Bahamas has expanded swiftly since 2010, the stock and affordability of new housing has not kept pace due to limited wage growth and financing constraints,” an IMF report on the affordability of housing in The Bahamas said.
