JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) — A 2-year-old boy in Jacksonville died on Easter Sunday after shooting himself with an unsecured gun. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened in the Wesconnett area at around 7 p.m. JSO did not say if anyone is being charged in connection to the incident. “Our hearts are with the family and everyone affected by this unimaginable loss,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

LAKE CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — A police officer in Florida was shot during an Easter celebration on Sunday. Officers from multiple agencies, including the Lake City Police Department, were providing crowd control services at the Annie Mattox Recreation Center, where the annual Easter event was expected to be attended by thousands of people. A fight broke out among several people just after 8 p.m., according to NBC affiliate WTLV.
