LAS VEGAS (KVVU/Gray News) - A Chihuahua was rescued from a dumpster in a Las Vegas neighborhood after he was thrown inside by an unidentified man Monday morning. The act was caught on a home surveillance camera and shared on social media by the Vegas Pet Rescue Project. The organization took the dog into their care Tuesday morning. Rescuers said the dog is now being called Atreyu and is around 3 years old.

(KVVU/Gray News) - A school in Arizona said they’ve received two citations related to the rescue of a group of students hiking near the Hoover Dam, but the school said there was never a true emergency. The Marvelous Microschool in Kingman, Arizona, said in a letter sent to parents that multiple details previously reported by the National Park Service about the hike and subsequent rescue are incorrect.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A driver who crashed into the side of a Henderson Chick-fil-A will not be facing charges, police say. Around 2 p.m. on Monday, a truck rammed into the drive-thru area of the restaurant on Eastern Avenue. Henderson Police say 5 people were injured and transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. On Tuesday, HPD confirmed that those injured in the crash were all employees.

Around 8:45 p.m., the North Las Vegas Fire Department responded to the structure fire in the 1200 block of Red Hollow Drive alongside Las Vegas Fire & Rescue. Arriving crews located a two-story house engulfed in flames, which extended from the first floor to the attic in an area with vaulted ceilings.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A Las Vegas man was arrested last month for making antisemitic and terroristic threats online, a new arrest report reveals. Michael Tomasino, 39, was arrested in his Henderson home on March 12, 2025, by Southern Nevada Counter Terrorism Detectives with Las Vegas Metro Police. He is facing a charge of making terroristic threats. Tomasino was linked to a comment made online the day before, which contained threats against the Jewish community and slurs.
