When I was heartbroken in my 20s, I tried to get over it with all the clichéd methods. I cried into tubs of ice cream with friends, watched Marriage Story on repeat, drank away my pain on nights out and tried to move on via rebounds. This approach didn’t exactly heal the hurt, but it did distract me from it, and eventually, enough time had passed that I was able to start new relationships. Until it happened again.

My friend thought she was paying me a compliment, but her words were some of the most hurtful I’d heard. Full of sincerity, she told me: ‘Radhika, you’re really pretty for an Indian.’That was the moment, aged 15, when I realised that no matter how much I tried to fit in, I’d always be seen as ‘less than’ because of the colour of my skin. I’m British Indian and, for most of my life, I’ve hated being Indian. That is not an easy sentence to write.

When it comes to skincare, I’m always ready to try new things. As someone who successfully banished the adult acne of my late 20s with years of expensive facials, I know the power of finding the right treatment for you. And what could be more personalised than a facial informed not only by the latest scientific advances but also by my character and resulting lifestyle choices? Enter the ‘Astro Facial’ – apparently the world’s first ‘fusion of skin health and astrology’.
