1 Introduction Coronary artery disease is currently the most frequent cause of heart failure and left ventricular dysfunction [1]. Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is the revascularization technique of choice for patients with complex coronary anatomy and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) < 35% [2, 3]. However, percutaneous revascularization may be considered in selected patients with angina and high risk for CABG or in those patients who refuse surgery [4].

1. IntroductionAcute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most prevalent type of cancer in the pediatric population. Over the past few decades, anthracycline-based therapies have significantly improved survival rates in these patients [1]. However, due to the exposition to cardiotoxic agents, childhood leukemia survivors (CLS) have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease during their lifetimes [2].

1. IntroductionHeart failure (HF) is a syndrome whose prevalence has been increasing in recent decades due to an increase in diagnoses and improved survival due to new therapeutic strategies [1]. Patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) in the chronic phase are in a phase of apparent clinical stability, and despite pharmacological advances that have improved prognoses, these patients have a significant residual risk of clinical deterioration and mortality [1,2].
