Introduction To bend the curve on biodiversity loss and enable threatened wild populations to recover, the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, signed by nearly 200 parties and adopted in December 2022 (CBD, 2022), outlines ambitious targets and goals for the coming decades. Realising that ambition will not only benefit biodiversity but also – directly or indirectly – all of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
