CHICAGO — Rising Chicago punk band Scarlet Demore will wrap up the year with two shows: a Halloween performance this week at Lincoln Hall and a spot in the winter edition of Beach Bunny’s Pool Party Festival at Thalia Hall. CHICAGO — Local filmmaker Alexander Eberhage’s new, debut documentary “Ballet Bat” explores an unsung hero of filmmaking: the movement double behind Batman’s graceful and powerful on-screen presence in the 1989 movie. Eberhage’s film centers on Carl Newman, a professional ballet dancer brought in to lend his graceful movements to Tim Burton’s 1989 film, “Batman.” Eberhage, a film student at DePaul with a background in narrative filmmaking, discovered Newman’s story through a podcast.
