RICHMOND, Va. β Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin said he is disappointed after Democrats swept Tuesday's legislative elections, retaking full control of the General Assembly.
"I'm a little disappointed to be clear and I think that's just a natural reality," he told reporters Wednesday afternoon. The electoral results were a rebuke of Youngkin's conservative agenda which includes a proposal to ban access to most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. β Democrat Russet Perry has defeated Republican Juan Pablo Segura in the hotly contested race for Virginia State Senate's 31st District, according to the Associated Press. As of 11 p.m., 97% of precincts have reported and Perry has secured 52.6% of the votes to Segura's 47.4%. Perry, a former CIA officer and Loudoun County prosecutor, arrived to cheers from the crowd at the Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg on election night Tuesday.
