Laguindingan International Airport (LIA), operated by Aboitiz InfraCapital’s Laguindingan Airport Corp since May 2025, is now handling over 300 domestic flights weekly, cementing its potential as the “Golden Gateway to Mindanao.”Based on May 2025 data, LIA, Mindanao’s second-busiest after Davao City’s Francisco Bangoy International Airport, took in a total of 337 flights per week to the country’s top destinations, namely Manila, Cebu, Iloilo and Davao.

The Bureau of Customs (BoC) reported on Friday that several grams of dried marijuana, or “kush” and ketamine tablets concealed in various parcels, approximately amounting to P16 million, were discovered at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City. In a statement, the BoC said the interception of the substances was led by the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
