Mumbai Indians continued their winning streak to storm to No.3 in the IPL 2025 points table after a crushing victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday. MI, who had lost four out of their first five matches this season, have now won four successive games and find themselves behind Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals with 10 points from 9 matches. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants also have 10 points each but MI have a better net run rate than these three teams.

KL Rahul was the cornerstone of Delhi Capitals’ victory over Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium on Tuesday. The win helped DC consolidate their second spot in the IPL 2025 points table – they are now tied with Gujarat Titans with 12 points from 8 matches but DC have an inferior net run rate. This was a grudge match if there ever one was. This was the first time KL Rahul played against LSG after one of the most headlined splits in IPL history.

On a night when Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel made a proper statement with his bowling spell against the most dangerous opening pair of IPL 2025, his Lucknow Super Giants counterpart did not even come out to bat and sent an Impact Player instead. Axar Patel bowled 3 out of his 4 overs in the Powerplay against Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh, who were on the rampage and gave away just 19 runs.

Gujarat Titans consolidated their top spot in the IPL 2025 points table with their 6th win in 8 matches after defeating defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Monday. The GT win was fashioned by their captain Shubman Gill’s 90 and a half-century by current Orange Cap holder Sai Sudharsan. Jos Buttler continued to boss the bowlers with another fine innings but the most pleasing aspect for the Titans was the return to form of Rashid Khan.

Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli hit contrasting half-centuries to help Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeat Punjab Kings at Mullanpur on Sunday. Less than 48 hours after RCB lost to PBKS in a rain-hit game at home, Padikkal, Kohli and Krunal Pandya played starring roles in a crushing victory. All five of RCB’s five wins this season have come away from home and this result adds to the traffic jam at the top with five teams now on 10 points. RCB were clinical with the ball and then with the bat.
