(Bloomberg) -- Abu Dhabi’s main power utility agreed to buy the UK’s Transmission Investment, one of the largest operators of assets connecting wind farms at sea to the British electricity grid. The acquisition by Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC, also known as Taqa, highlights its plans to expand in Europe.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. agreed to sell liquefied natural gas to Malaysia’s Petronas for 15 years starting 2028, expanding the Middle East company’s efforts to become a major supplier of the fuel. The agreement for 1 million tons a year converts a preliminary deal to a definitive sales agreement, Adnoc said in a statement. Adnoc will supply the fuel primarily from an LNG export facility it’s building in Ruwais near Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi’s main energy company said significant value in its natural gas unit can be unlocked with an additional share sale. The statement follows a Bloomberg News report last week that Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. is weighing plans to sell an additional 3% to 5% in Adnoc Gas Plc, which at the top end would help raise just over $3.5 billion based on Friday’s closing price. Adnoc Gas’ value can be enhanced by inclusion in wider market indexes and with a broader shareholder base, Adnoc said Monday.
