A Juneteenth celebration is coming to Dyer County and you're all invited. For those not in the know, Juneteenth is the newest federal holiday in the United States. It is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the de facto ending of slavery, referring to June 19, 1865, the day when Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the American Civil War.

Tolkien, Isaac Asimov ... “All Summer in a Day” is a science fiction short story written by the legendary science-fiction writer Ray Bradbury. He first published it in March 1954 for The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction. I first came across it in a collection of short stories at the old county library about 40 years after that. kAm%96 DE@CJ :D 23@FE 2 4=2DD @7 ?:?6\J62C\@=5 DEF56?ED @?

DYERSBURG - West Tennessee has seen its share of wild weather this spring, so it was perhaps not unexpected that another bout of severe weather would impact this year's Dyersburg High School graduation. And indeed that is just what happened as the DHS high school graduates for 2025 had to wait an extra day to receive their diplomas.
