This is the first week of high school football in the Valley. There are eight Central Section games on Thursday, then 55 on Friday, including San Joaquin Memorial taking on Clovis North. The Panthers were working out in the 108 degree heat Tuesday. Friday's game is also the season debut of Friday Night Rivals. Our 14th season kicks off with the Panthers taking on the Broncos. Longtime Panthers' head coach Anthony Goston always looks forward to opening night.
