MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — A family of six and their 17 pets escaped a house fire in Murfreesboro on Painted Pony Drive Sunday morning. Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department officials responded to the scene around 6:20 a.m. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the blaze upon arrival. Firefighters aboard Ladder 2 assisted two family members out of the home, while the other four escaped without the need for assistance.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A portion of I-24 East is shut down following a multi-vehicle crash Sunday morning. Emergency crews first responded to the scene between Haywood Lane and Bell Road, near mile marker 58.6 around 4:21 a.m. Officials with Dispatch told NewsChannel 5 that around six vehicles were involved in this crash, and at least two people have been transported from the scene to area hospitals.

(WTVF) — A convicted sex offender has been arrested after he sexually assaulted a woman outside of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center parking garage Metro Nashville Police posted the update about the arrest of Daniel Revette, 39, on X early Saturday morning. BREAKING UPDATE: Daniel Revette is in custody. Officers arrested him this morning at a Nashville hospital after he sought admission for an evaluation. He is now jailed in lieu of $160k bond.

LEBANON, Tenn. (WTVF) — A search is underway for a man who is accused of shooting his wife in Lebanon. Officers with the Lebanon Police Department responded to the 500 block of Fairview Avenue around 12:26 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, a woman was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The woman was transported from the scene to Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, where she later died.

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WTVF) — One person is dead and four others are injured after a head-on crash in Springfield on East 22nd Avenue and Woodland Street. The crash took place around 6:14 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. Officials say two cars collided because one attempted to pass another in a no-passing zone and struck the other. After this collision, the first car ran off the left side of the road and struck a third car sitting in a driveway. The 20-year-old driving the first car died in the crash.
