On Sunday, two former Amarillo ISD athletes a former AISD coach will be honored by the Texas Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame as members of the organization's 67th class of inductees. This year's honorees include former Palo Duro basketball player Austin Johnson, longtime coach Scott Tankersley and former Amarillo High hoops star Natalie Ritchie-Roberts. Johnson played starred on the hardwood for the Dons from 2001-2005, leaving PD as AISD's all-time leading scorer with 2,602 career points.

Both the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder boast rosters with a handful of young players earning significant minutes. Cason Wallace has been one of OKC's top performers off the bench throughout his second postseason, while third-year player Jalen Williams earned All-Star and All-NBA honors this year.

Baseball season might be over in the Texas Panhandle, but one Wellington senior will get the chance to play another game on the diamond before his high school career ends. Florentino "TJ" Salinas, an infielder for the Skyrockets, was recently selected to participate in the 4th Annual Native American All-Star Baseball Showcase hosted by the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park from June 21-22.

Now that the calendar has finally turned to June, the NBA Draft is less than a month away. Set for June 25, this year's event takes place 20 days after the NBA Finals kicks off in Oklahoma City. With the draft approaching, Draft Digest published an updated two-round mock draft that features a number of intriguing pairings. At No. 6 overall, the projection slotted Oklahoma freshman Jeremiah Fears to the Washington Wizards.
