One source closely affiliated with the AA told Myanmar Now that the powerful armed group is planning to launch offensives on the remaining junta bases in Rakhine State, hoping to overwhelm the junta near its borders. “The battles aren’t over yet,” the source said.

A military helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing in Magway Region on Sunday after it was fired on as it was leaving Ann Township in Rakhine State, according to local sources. The Arakan Army (AA) on Tuesday repeated allegations that Rohingya armed groups are among the pro-junta forces fighting against the AA in Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State on the Bangladeshi border. The AA issued a statement naming three Rohingya militias or armed groups as collaborators with the junta forces: the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO), and Arakan Rohingya Army (ARA).
