However, Cocaine Bear has a leg up on that movie with one simple fact: It was based on a true story. In 1985, a drug smuggler dropped over 40 bricks of cocaine in a forest in Knoxville, Tennessee. The package was found by a wild black bear, who proceeded to eat some of it.
