For the uninitiated, Bruce Dickinson is the immensely talented singer of the legendary British metal band Iron Maiden. And having been active in Maiden since 1982 with no fewer than thirteen albums with the band, somehow, impossibly, he’s also taken the time to carve an impressive solo career. He’s released his seventh solo release The Mandrake Project and has done pairing it with a comic book loosely inspired by the album.

As the hours melted away, one of the last titles we had the pleasure of experiencing was the upcoming Sad Cat Studios game, REPLACED. Replaced is a side scrolling action game, like the giants of the NES game era, only coupled with absolutely gorgeous pixilated visuals and a very adult neo cyber punk atmosphere. The time available with the title was a little short of what might be needed to get the full experience, but we made the most of it.

Through the madness of our Summer Game Fest Play Days experience, we took a moment to play the upcoming expansion (and something of a re-imagining) for New World, entitled New World: Aeternum. While initially a full MMORPG, New World: Aeternum—at least as far as our demo—seemed aimed a bit more to be an open world RPG. As we dove in, our first choice was a character archetype. We chose the musketeer in a hopes for skill with long-distance sharpshooting.

Sick New World returned to the Las Vegas Fairgrounds yesterday featuring absolutely too, too much talent for just one day of consumption. A jaw-dropping fifty plus bands played across five stages, several of which a rotating stage with no set breaks. The grounds were somehow, even bigger than last year at the same location. So that meant massive hikes across throngs of eager concertgoers.

Ten years ago at the Greek Theatre Maynard James Keenan staged a now legendary celebration concert to mark his fiftieth birthday, entitled Cinquanta. That show was a continuous performance, with all players on stage with various couches for members not actively performing to sit and watch, as the show alternated between mini sets from Failure, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle.
