Materials and methodsDeidentified postmortem adult human brain tissue was obtained after receiving permission from the deceased’s next-of-kin. Tissue collection was performed in accordance with the provisions of the United States Uniform Anatomical Gift Act of 2006 described in the California Health and Safety Code section 7150 (effective 1/1/2008) and other applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
