    Just as in life off trail, it doesn’t take long to fall into a routine on trail, and once you do, the days start to blend together. But also like life off trail, there are days on trail that stick with you and stick out, and days like that can be recalled so vividly, they deserve their own blog.     Hello again; I know it’s been a while. I’ve embarked on the most simple thing in the world — getting up everyday and walking — and I would think there would be plenty of time to fit in other things to my day, like blogging. But despite the drastic simplification of my life, I am surprised how little time there is for anything else, including writing.

    After the excitement of all the wildlife sightings, I decided I would stay at shelters for a while, because I felt more comfortable being around people at night. My options the next day were to travel about five miles to Low Gap Shelter or another seven miles to Blue Mountain Shelter (total of 12). I wanted to keep my options open so I just set out walking.
