While being questioned about a mooning incident, a Carrollton man methed up and caught a felony drug charge after he ignored police commands to stop reaching into his bag. On April 19, officers from the Carrollton Police Department were searching for a suspect who had reportedly exposed his backside to a group of people at a smoke shop on South Park Street when they stopped to speak with Joseph Lee Sconyers, 49.

Carrollton Police on Tuesday arrested a teenager suspected of breaking into multiple vehicles so he could steal items left inside. Authorities said one victim called police on the evening of April 22 after her child told her that a man had entered her vehicle and stolen a black book bag. She said the suspect had run off before she could get a look at him.

A dodgy driver who tried to give police the slip ended up in jail on multiple felony charges instead. Channing Christopher Arthur Chapman, 30, caught the eye of Carrollton Police officers performing a dedicated drug patrol on North Park Street on Thursday night. The officers reportedly observed a black 2008 Pontiac in the center lane turning onto Rome Street and watched the driver — later identified as Chapman — react to police presence.

De'Asia Hindsman of Bowdon High School has been named a region winner of the Young Georgia Authors competition, honored for her poem "A Little Thought."Hindsman said she is "honored" to have been recognized for her poem. "My middle school self, who dreamed of being a journalist, is walking on self-gratifying clouds of joy," she said. "Dee is an amazing writer," Hindsman's English teacher, Kristy McKinzey, said of the senior. "She's creative and extremely articulate.
