TAMPA, Fla. — Adam Sandler is hitting the road, and this time, he's bringing his act to Tampa. Following his sold-out 2022 and 2023 tours, the iconic comedian announced the "You're My Best Friend" arena tour, which will head to Amalie Arena on Sept. 6. Sandler most recently dropped his "Love You" comedy special last summer, which is available to stream on Netflix and scored a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. Tickets for the event are set to go on sale noon Friday, June 27.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A woman was arrested after a baby died at the "daycare" she was running inside her one-bedroom apartment in St. Petersburg, according to police. The St. Petersburg Police Department said around 1:46 p.m. on July 25, 2024, officers were called to Desiree Rentz's apartment when the 9-month-old baby, identified as Timothy David Smith, would not wake up from a nap.

Hurricane season is officially in full swing, which means we're tracking the tropics every day. Now, we could have our first named storm of the season. According to ABC Action News Meteorologist Greg Dee, the Tampa Bay area may see tropical depression 1, or potentially Tropical Storm Andrea, due to the low pressure in the Atlantic. The National Hurricane Center is currently predicting a 70% chance for the system to develop over the next two days. But even if we do, Dee said there's no need to worry.
'Operation DRAGON EYE': Officials locate 60 'critically' missing children in Tampa Bay

The United States Marshals Service announced that they have located critically missing children from across Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco Counties during a two-week operation with multiple local partners. Officials said the operation, known as "DRAGON EYE," was successful, resulting in the recovery of 60 missing children aged 9 to 17. They also arrested eight people on various charges, including human trafficking, child endangerment, narcotics possession and custodial interference.
Florida woman shoots deputy after traffic stop: Officials

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Both a deputy and a suspect were injured after a traffic stop that escalated in Marion County early Monday morning. The Marion County Sheriff's Office said around 2:30 a.m., deputies responded to reports about shots being fired in the 2900 block of South Pine Avenue. Officials said once the traffic stop concluded, a woman shot the deputy, who returned fire. The deputy has non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was taken to a hospital.
