We previously reported the high efficacy of the RA vaccine and assessed the expression profile in the PBMC of vaccinated/challenged or infected mice [12]. Aiming to expand the investigation of the gene expression profile of infected animals beyond Day 17, we analyzed PBMC samples collected 35 days after a high-dose infection with 500 cercariae (Fig. 1a). The animals exhibited an average worm burden of 157 and mean liver-trapped egg burden of ~ 3700 (Fig. 1b–d).
