Dozens of belt buckles, trophy saddles and oversize checks line the shelves around the T.V.Martin graduated from Stanley County High School last month and has spent the weeks since competing in the final rodeo events of her high school career.

Dozens of military vehicles crossed the Missouri River this week — but they didn’t take the usual route. Instead, they were ferried on a floating bridge system operated by the South Dakota National Guard. It was part of a multi-day training exercise held by the Guard’s 200th Engineer Company, which is based in Pierre, Mobridge, and Chamberlain. The company specializes in bridge systems that allow personnel, equipment, and supplies to get where they need to go, Commander Ivor Swanson said.
