What makes for an excellent book? Obviously the definition is subjective, based on personal tastes, cravings, interests, and more. What we consider a good book right now might not hold the same a year later. Aside from alllll the biases that go into the defining of a “good book” (tap into this post for more on that), I’ve always felt that an excellent book is defined by a feeling we can’t articulate.

What would it take to build a world where every pregnant person in this country had the rights, resources, and respect they needed to decide what to do with their pregnancy, whether to continue it or not? That world that we want to build is what’s possible with this election and the organizing that must happen after it, no matter the outcome.

The morning of Renee Bracey Sherman’s abortion, the thing she fretted about the most was what to wear to her procedure. Should I wear comfy clothes that are easy to remove? But what if I look messy—will they think I am not taking this seriously? If I get too dressed up, am I going to be out of place? Do I have to take off all my clothes, the way I would for surgery, or just the bottoms, like at a gyno exam?
