Primarily found in the Western United States, America’s geothermal plants generate electricity using geothermal energy. Said differently, these plants create power by using the internal thermal energy from Earth and then distributing this power to nearby businesses and residents. A geothermal power plant isn’t all that different from a coal or nuclear solution, it just uses a different heat source.
