Hildebrand died on November 21, 2024, following a brief illness, just one week before his 74th birthday.

AMC premiered the second season of the Maggie and Negan spinoff, The Walking Dead: Dead City on May 4. The Walking Dead: Dead Cityseason 2 premiere, "Power Equals Power," was written by showrunner Eli Jorné and directed by the talented TWD veteran, Michael Satrazemis. It opened with an excellent scene showing walkers being harvested to cook down into a green goo used to power Manhattan. The scene was set to Ace Frehley's "New York Groove," which fits perfectly. A new season means new faces.
