MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) - Just before 2:00pm Friday afternoon, emergency crews were called to the I-94 overpass on 8th St. S. in Moorhead, for a report that a car had flipped onto its roof. Our reporter on scene saw multiple vehicles involved in the crash. At least one other vehicle had visible damage. Northbound traffic is being directed into one lane, until crews are able to clear the crash. No word on what cause the crash, or any injuries at this time.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) - The Freez in Moorhead has a new owner and soon, will open again with a new name. The owner of Buddy’s Parfait says she is excited to finally be able to make the announcement public. The business went up for sale in late 2024. In March of 2024, The Freez officially opened with new owner Lorraine Moore. Previous owners Jess Malvin had been a part of ‘The Freez’ since 2018, but decided to ultimately put the business up for sale.

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - New Day Auto Sales has announced their opening at 4554 7th Ave. S. in Fargo. This is the location of the former Cairo Restaurant, which permanently closed in March of 2025. The closure came after the previous owner, Heba Ismail, was convicted of Felony Theft. The bar’s liquor license was suspended because of those charges. The bar’s liquor license was suspended as a result of the charges, but now, it’s officially closed.

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (Valley News Live) - Court documents say in September of 2024, Detroit Lakes police received a call from the Detroit Lakes Public Schools office, reporting theft of funds by a former employee. The school told officers that Abby Pettit resigned from her position earlier that day, after she was questioned about missing money. Pettit worked at the school for several years as the Administrative Assistant for the Activities & Athletics Department.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) - Moorhead Police say just after midnight on Monday, May 5th, they were called to the 1000 block of 18th ½ Street South for reports of multiple gunshots being heard. Witnesses told police they saw a vehicle leaving the area directly after the shots were fired. Police say the vehicle was later found and searched. Police also say an adult male was identified and is believed to been in the area during the shooting.
