Two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals ferromagnets have potential applications as next-generation spintronic devices and provide a platform to explore the fundamental physics behind 2D magnetism. The dual nature (localized and itinerant) of electrons adds further complexity to the understanding of correlated magnetic materials.

Edge-on galaxies act as the best laboratories to understand the origin of thin and thick discs in galaxies. Measurement of spatially resolved stellar population properties in such galaxies, particularly age, metallicity and [α/Fe], are crucial to understanding the formation and evolution of disc galaxies. Such measurements are made possible from stellar population model fits to deep integral field spectroscopic (IFU) observations of resolved galaxies.

A porous organic polymer for symmetric sodium dual-ion batteries through an adsorption-intercalation-insertion mechanism† A porous organic polymer (POP) has been developed for dual-ion storage in all organic symmetric rechargeable batteries. The triphenylamine-pyrene-based POP could host sodium and hexafluorophosphate ions acting as the anode and the cathode, respectively, through the adsorption-intercalation and insertion mechanism.

The advancement of detection capabilities of astrophysical detectors and robust high-resolution numerical simulations of a large number of complicated astrophysical systems has given us the hope to resolve many astrophysics problems, which has intrigued the scientific community for decades. One of the most sought-after questions is about the constituent particles and the fundamental nature of the force that governs matter at high density.
