    In the historic city of Lincoln, Lincolnshire, in the East Midlands, you'll find a steep, cobbled street lined with independent shops, eateries, tea rooms and boutiques. This aptly named Steep Hill, nestled in the Medieval heart of the city leads up to the renowned Lincoln Cathedral. However, the street itself is worthy of attention as it bagged the Great Street Award from the Academy of Urbanism in 2012 for its ability to "adapt while respecting and enhancing its heritage".
