Four Mile Beach is one of those special Aussie beaches with everything you need to feel serene. Mountains line the horizon, calm water laps the shore and the sun sets on the water. Even better, the only way to get to this secret spot on Maria Island is by boat from the Tasmanian mainland and then by foot, so you’re pretty much guaranteed to have it to yourself. Wading in after a long day of hiking, the icy Tassie water is the perfect tonic to sore feet and legs.

OPINIONWhen women talk about the gender pay gap it’s expected that some man will make an absurd comment to belittle the issue. This time, Nationals MP Matt Canavan has had the dumbest clapback yet. On Tuesday, the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) published data that showed the pay gap between men and women sits at 19 per cent and the median Australian female worker is taking home $18,461 less than their male counterpart.

Powerful op-ed from @SaxonAdair and @rachael_burgin "Rape myths, as they are called, are false assumptions about sexual violence, those who perpetrate it, and those who experience it. For victims, they prescribe a perfect victim, an impossible archetype." https://t.co/Ef0vDB66tz
