Marina police say that a vehicle crashed into a building at the Dunes Shopping Center on Friday. According to police, the vehicle was traveling on Second Avenue when the driver experienced a medical emergency. The vehicle left the roadway, struck another vehicle and several fixed objects, and finally came to a stop after crashing into the building. Police stated that alcohol and drugs are not suspected factors in the crash. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

On May 18, 2025, relatives of 90-year-old Robert Smallwood reported him missing after being unable to contact him for several days. The next day, Robert was found dead on his property located on Jarvis Road.
