Brady Risk scored a hat trick on Friday night as Omaha hockey notched a 5-2 win over No. 13 Colorado College on Friday night. Sam Stange and Harrison Israels each had two points for the Mavericks (9-10-0, 5-4-0), who moved back over .500 in conference play. Risk put UNO on the board just before the first period expired, scoring a power-play goal with 6.7 seconds left. With the Mavericks leading 2-1 in the second, Risk fired in a rebound off a Myles Hilman shot to make it 3-1.

Simon Latkoczy made 24 saves and earned a shutout as Omaha blanked Miami 3-0 on Friday night. The Mavericks (4-7-0, 2-3-0) had lost seven of eight entering the series and had scored more than two goals only once since Oct. 25. But the Mavs put together a strong attack on Friday, tallying 32 shots and scoring a short-handed goal — despite coming up empty on six power-play attempts. UNO got on the scoreboard early, as Myles Hilman scored his first career goal just 2:10 into the game.
