Brady Street: A Portrait of a Neighborhood serves as a history lesson about the East Side community, from its early days as a haven for Polish, German and later Italian immigrants, then as a counterculture hotbed followed by a troubling decline until a modern-day, ongoing rebirth.

Wisconsin will further cement its reputation as a hotbed for major golf events when Erin Hills hosts the U.S. Women’s Open later this month. The tournament, the preeminent championship in women’s golf, will be held May 29-June 1 on the scenic 6,835-yard layout in the Town of Erin, in Washington County. The 80th U.S. Women’s Open will be the third to be played in Wisconsin, with Se Ri Pak winning in 1998 and Na Yeon Choi winning the 2012 championship, both at Blackwolf Run in Kohler.

Looking to pique students’ curiosity, especially those not necessarily interested in school’s routine offerings, Isseks created a pioneering elective: an audiovisual course called Electronic English. Early on, students shot music videos and kung fu clips in the free-form gatherings.
