On a sun-splashed Sunday afternoon at Erin Hills, Sweden’s Maja Stark held on to win the 80th U.S. Women’s Open in front of large crowd of cheering fans on the challenging layout that got the better of many in the field. The win is the first major for Stark, who took home the $2.4 million winner’s check, along with a trophy and medal. When asked what she plans to do with the life-changing payout, the 25-year-old Stark, soaked in celebratory champagne, smiled.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Despite being one of the best pitchers in the Milwaukee Brewers' injury-plagued rotation this season, Logan Henderson is headed for the minors. The Brewers optioned Henderson to Triple-A Nashville while reinstating DL Hall from the 60-day injured list. The move came Monday prior to Milwaukee’s 3-2 win over the the Boston Red Sox. Many of the world’s top golfers are in Southeastern Wisconsin this week to compete in the 80th U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills. The preeminent championship in women’s golf began Thursday and runs through Sunday. The course has been earning high praise from players, who will also be dealing with a bit of anxiety over the scenic but challenging 6,745-yard layout in the town of Erin, in a rustic section of Washington County.

When it comes to Thomas Dambo’s works of art, it’s almost all about trolls. The Danish artist has created 159 troll sculptures in 20 countries over the last 11 years. Dambo’s latest work is a 24-foot-tall work that’s the centerpiece of the brand-new Firefly Grove Park (1900 N. 116th St.) on Wauwatosa’s west side. Dambo named the troll Mama Rosa, to rhyme with Wauwatosa, of course. Dambo’s trolls have become a global sensation over the past decade.
