    Rocket Lab launched the Ready, Aim, PREFIRE mission for NASA over the weekend from Launch Complex 1 on the Mahia Peninsula in New Zealand. This is the first of two CubeSats that will study how the Earth absorbs heat over its polar regions. PREFIRE, or Polar Radiant Energy in the Far-InfraRed Experiment, will be the first mission to study the Polar regions in infrared and far-infrared wavelengths. One down, one to go! 🛰️The first PREFIRE satellite has been successfully deployed.

    SpaceX is targeting June 5th for the fourth flight test of its massive Starship rocket, pending approval from the Federal Aviation Administration. The company completed a full wet dress rehearsal last week before destacking Starship from the Super Heavy booster to complete final preparations ahead of launch.

    Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket lifted off from their West Texas Launch Site One on Sunday, carrying a crew of seven on a short hop to space and back. This was the first crewed mission for Blue Origin since September 2022 following the loss of a vehicle on an uncrewed flight when a nozzle failure caused the flight termination system to activate, sending the capsule safely away from the failing New Shepard.
