As I sit down at my desk to type this missive, I find myself in the uncomfortable position of portending the fall of the American Republic. My observations tell me we are at, near, or past the point of no return on this one. However, it is not my purpose to make the case for the fall. It is just the opposite. It is the hope that I am very wrong about this conclusion. The signs are everywhere, but few seem to be all that concerned about it.
