Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has revealed plans by his administration to ensure that the abandoned multi-million naira Water Fountain at King’s Square, Benin City, is revived. Governor Okpebholo disclosed this while speaking with journalists after an inspection tour of the facility, built by the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led administration. The Water Fountain, in the past, attracted thousands of fun seekers to the museum, especially during festive periods.

The House of Representatives Committee on Polytechnics and other Higher Technical Education expressed shock over the discovery of Federal Polytechnic Ugep, Cross Rivers State, spending over N600 million on personnel and overhead costs despite having only 142 students and 154 academic and non-academic staff. This was discovered after a submission on budget performance and other activities by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Professor Edward Okey before the Committee on Monday.
