Unproduced Scripts

I think I might have given you all my unproduced scripts now - at least all the ones that I have on my computer, there are a few more on floppy disc (Coathanger Tim for example, though I wrote that on an Amstrad word processor so think there’s little chance of finding that). Stew and I wrote a sitcom called Hostages for an American network in 1999ish, but if I can even find that file I bet it’s in the wrong format. Anyway this is the first script I wrote for the sitcom Breeders.

8182/21102I wasn't very well yesterday, as evidenced by the fact that I got the Pope's name wrong in the initial version of my blog. But that was just a test to see how many of you are actually reading. It turns out it is one person. Jon Burton. I'm just relieved that I am not doing this for no one. Bad Pope. It also struck me that maybe calling yourself Pope Innocent is actually a comment on the previous pope. Yes I know the last guy wasn't innocent like you'd expect a pope to be, but I am.

8175/21095I don't know if tonight's RHLSTPs will be the last ones we do at the Leicester Square Theatre - it's probably more likely than not that I will return- but have to say that tonight's shows were an excellent advert for carrying on as we are. Timkey was in astoundingly good form and it was terrific to chat with Chloe Radcliffe, whose work I've been enjoying online for a good while and who was very funny too.

8174/21094Haven't Waitrose read Animal Farm? Pig Farmers are all very well in theory, but it doesn't work out in practice. Catie, my wonderful wife, was so blinded by love for me (you can't blame her) when we met that she didn't do the maths in her head. Sure I was a youthful 40 back then and in my prime, (blooming beautifully, but minutes away from turning into a rodent infested pumpkin) and she was 27 and the age gap wasn't noticeable (to us at least).

8171/21091Fucking Hell. I think I like Center Parcs. After feeling like I was in Hell on Monday, I actually got to a state of being quite blissed out today. I was having fun. If I am honest, usually when I am on holiday there's a pretty annoying part of me counting down the nights and wanting to get back home to work. I hate that part of myself. He's the reason I can afford to go to Center Parcs, but he's also the reason that I find it hard to let my hair down, relax and have fun.

8169/21089Oh BTW Substack - I don’t stop doing blogs cos I am on holiday. If anything I do a bit more. First full day at Center Parcs and the nightmare of overcrowded Monday is over and the place almost seems pleasant. It's a great tactic from Ian Center and Ian Parcs. Make day one Hell and then day two will seem like Heaven, even though there are still really too many people here and everything costs money (not the hairdryers though - I was wrong about that- Please don't sue me Center Parcs.

8165/21085On the way to school the kids and me riffed on funny superhero ideas. It's a much explored comedy area and we were unlikely to push back any boundaries, but there's loads of comedy that is fun to do with friends and family that I wouldn't consider putting on stage or even putting in a blog (how rude would that be, especially now a handful of people are paying up to 14p a day on it).
