LIBERALS TO PICK NEW LEADERYesterday we got Anthony Albanese’s new ministry, while the Nationals stuck with David Littleproud as leader. Today it’s the Liberals’ turn, with the partyroom meeting at 10am to decide who will succeed Peter Dutton as leader and be tasked with trying to pick up the pieces after the thumping election loss. The Nine papers led overnight on Sussan Ley’s camp saying they reckon they have the numbers to win the leadership ballot.

THE COUNTING CONTINUESI hope we haven’t all hit election result fatigue yet, because the fallout from Anthony Albanese and Labor’s historic win at the weekend unsurprisingly continues to dominate proceedings, with the counting in the undecided seats remaining captivating. I’m on my third coffee already, so let’s get going. Most publications now have Labor sitting on a projected 88 seats and the Coalition on 40, with 12 still to be decided.
