    In 2002, Daniel Kahneman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences – the first psychologist to win it. He got the prize because of the work he had done with Amos Tversky on how people make decisions. In this work, they challenged the central assumptions of standard economics that people are rational, consistent and selfish. In a series of dazzling experiments, they showed how wrong these assumptions can be. For example, people are hugely affected by how the choices facing them are framed.
