WJXT’s meteorologist, Richard Nunn, has forecasted a blistering heat wave making an entrance as the weekend wraps up and the new week begins. Expect daytime highs reaching the mid to upper 90s, providing the perfect excuse to fire up the grill or take a dip in the pool. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Tonight’s weather features a noticeable shift as lingering showers move out, making way for sunny skies and higher temperatures. According to WJXT’s meteorologist Richard Nunn, a few spotty showers are currently observed north of downtown, near the airport, but they’re expected to clear out soon. While some rain showers linger, the transition to drier air is anticipated later tonight. Clear skies will dominate the forecast as we move into Wednesday.

The unsettled pattern continues with each model putting a different spin on the interaction between the stalled frontal boundary and the afternoon sea breeze.
