CONGRATULATIONS then to Spurs and Ange Postecoglou on winning the ‘Europa League’ – of which the Tottenham manager has referred to repeatedly as a major trophy. And that’s the great thing about life, isn’t it? If it’s major to Ange and the Spurs fans, then major it is!It’s not for us to say that every half-decent team in Europe is thrown into the Champions League these days, leaving these other competitions reserved for low-thrill teams like Rangers, Bodo Glimt and Spurs. FA Premier LeagueARSENAL 1 (Rice 55)NEWCASTLE UNITED 0HERE was a final home league game of the season which perhaps illustrated the story of a disjointed and disappointing campaign. Arsenal have rather stumbled over the line in the pursuit of second place and it was no surprise that a deadlocked match against the team looking to leapfrog them in the last knockings was settled by an individual moment of brilliance rather than the controlled dominance of the last two seasons.
