The European Converted Paper Association (ECPA), an interest group representing the paper industry, and Visitor International, the international association of visitor information providers, are the latest additions to the print and paper advocacy group’s member base. ECPA is the collective voice of the converted paper industry in Europe and represents a diverse network of manufacturers and suppliers dedicated to supporting business with “high-quality functional paper solutions”.

Following its acquisition of DS Smith earlier this year, International Paper confirmed the proposed closure of five of its UK packaging sites last month, with almost 140 jobs at risk at box plant Clay Cross. Unite represents the engineers at the site, while most other staff are members of the GMB trade union. Printweek reported earlier this week that DS Smith had confirmed International Paper’s proposal also related to sheet plants in Plymouth, Newcastle, Sheerness, and Wellingborough.

It was held at the Marco Pierre White restaurant, on the top floor of The Cube Hotel, which offered skyline views of Birmingham to guests – a cross-section of printers, print buyers, suppliers, designers, marketing agencies, and technology developers.
