Taunton. St Andrews First XI were at home to Downend in WEPL Premier One on Saturday where at the end of a low scoring match it was the visitors who emerged as the winners by one wicket. Batting first the hosts were all out for 140 in 35.5 overs of which Gabe Gallman-Findley made 29 and debutant 15 year old Nick Watson a patent 24 from 47 balls. When Downend replied James Matravers struck twice as they were reduced to 10 for 3, before a partnership of 77 was eventually broken by Jay Terry.

Two teams headed the honours board at the end of the round on 42 points, however following count back the winners were Chris Hannam and Ed Ingram, just ahead of second Suzanne Boydell and Alan Wheal.
