@1RickLewis I think, Buddy actually did the right thing in this case. I am the biggest critic of his and have been calling for him to be replaced for two years, but I can’t fall him for this. However, I do fault him for leaving in Vodnik in the ninth and not going to Halverson

@1RickLewis We need to stop having this conversation, Rick. Freeland was the one who told Bud Black that he was tired. When a picture tells you that you have to take him out.

It’s hard for me to second guess a manager that has been around the game his entire life but….knowing you have a weak bullpen I think you leave your starter in the game. 67 pitches is nothing for a starter even by today’s standard.

Why were pitchers arms so much stronger and durable 50 years ago is the question. They didn’t have the nutrition and medical advances of the modern athletes. They were smoking and drinking and staying out all night and throw a complete game. Even with putting these guys on pitch

I’m a fan of Bud Black and he knows more about pitching than everyone here on X. That being said, my complaint is about the evolution of the game regarding pitchers. Nolan Ryan once threw 235 pitches in one game!! Do you think that shortened his 23 year career? LOL $$$ changed

@1RickLewis We had our defensive coordinator doing all the running stuff so he could develop our skill guys for the fall, our O-Line coach handled the field stuff. Rest of us played baseball.

Wait….10 track and field coaches at one high school? We had two, one for track and one for field.
