When I was in college, my father obtained a pure-bred golden retriever puppy. Sherry was easily the most intelligent animal I had ever come across. Like all dogs, her emotional intelligence was off the charts. She could associate certain sounds (words) with certain commands and actions, and use the inflection of a human's voice, facial expression, and sounds she could recognize to react. My dad used to say he was convinced that the way she looked at him, one day she would talk to him.

On Oct. 18, 2023, an unidentified Jewish student tried to walk through a pro-Palestinian protest near the business school of Harvard University. Two of the protesters, 28-year-old Elom Tettey-Tamaklo and 28-year-old Ibrahim Bharmal, blocked his way. The victim impact statement continues the story. NBC 10:Tettey-Tamaklo and Bharmal were accused of surrounding the victim as he walked through the protest, covering his head with keffiyehs and shouting "exit" at him.

Why do California Democrats balk at throwing the book at adults who solicit sex from children? Last year, Democrats passed a bill pushed by Republicans that made it a felony to solicit all minors for sex. The Democratic supermajority carved out an exemption for 15- and 16-year-olds. That they think there's a difference in the maturity of a 15- and 16-year-old is hard to fathom, but they must have felt the current penalty of two days to one year in jail for soliciting was sufficient.

Why is it that some Democrats believe that if only their leaders would become as insanely angry and unbalanced as they are about Donald Trump, their party would make a roaring comeback? Democratic House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries has struggled to keep some of his caucus from jumping off a cliff over something Donald Trump supposedly did or didn't do. As you can imagine, it's a full time job.
